From Derby
At A38, Markeaton Island (ESSO Garage and Drive-Thru McDonalds), then take the A52 to Ashbourne (approx. 10 miles)
At Ashbourne roundabout follow the Brown tourist signs to Carsington Water.
From Matlock
From Matlock follow the A6 to Matlock Bath continue to Cromford
At the traffic lights turn right to Cromford taking the B5023 towards Wirksworth.
Before reaching Wirksworth (at top of hill) turn right onto the B5035 signposted Ashbourne
Follow the Brown tourist signs to Carsington Water.
From M1 (South)
Leave M1 at junction 25, and follow A52 to Derby City Centre.
On approaching Derby, continue following signs to City Centre.
Do NOT take A52 (signposted) to Ashbourne!
Pass Pride Park Football Stadium and Wyvern Shopping Centre on the left joining inner ring road.
Then, follow signs for A52 Ashbourne, coming out of Derby on Friargate.
Continue to Markeaton Island.
Follow directions as above from Derby.
From M1 (North)
Leave M1 at junction 28, and follow signs to Matlock.
Follow directions as above from Matlock.
From M6
Take exit for Stoke-on-Trent.
Follow A50.
Exit for Derby – Toyota’s Burnaston Plant.
Follow A38 to Markeaton Island.
